Our practice, led by Sibley Fleming, LPC, NCC, is dedicated to providing trauma-informed care to individuals with extreme trauma. We understand the profound impact trauma can have on one's life and are committed to supporting survivors on their journey towards healing and resilience.

At Chosen Path Therapy, we believe in the power of trauma-informed care as a guiding principle in our therapeutic approach. We recognize that individuals who have experienced extreme trauma require specialized support that acknowledges the complexity and depth of their experiences. Our team of compassionate and experienced professionals is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where survivors can embark on their healing path.

What is Trauma-Informed Care?

Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and the importance of creating a safe and empowering environment for survivors. It is a framework that guides our practice, ensuring that every interaction, intervention, and treatment modality is grounded in safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment.

Our Specialties:

1. Safety and Trust: We prioritize creating a safe and trustworthy therapeutic space where survivors can feel secure to explore their trauma, express their emotions, and share their experiences without fear of judgment or retraumatization. We work collaboratively with our clients, allowing them to set the pace and direction of their healing journey.

2. Trauma Assessment and Stabilization: Our clinicians are trained in comprehensive trauma assessments to gain a deep understanding of each survivor's unique experiences and needs. We utilize evidence-based techniques to help stabilize individuals, manage distressing symptoms, and develop healthy coping strategies.

3. Trauma-Focused Therapy: Our therapists specialize in trauma-focused therapy modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These approaches address the cognitive, emotional, and physiological impact of trauma, fostering healing and promoting resilience.

4. Resilience Building: We are dedicated to helping survivors build resilience and develop skills to navigate the challenges that arise from extreme trauma. Our therapists incorporate mindfulness practices, self-care techniques, and empowerment-focused interventions to support clients in reclaiming their lives and forging a path towards a brighter future.

5. Holistic Approach: We recognize the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. In addition to traditional talk therapy, we offer complementary approaches such as art therapy, mindfulness exercises, and somatic-based interventions to address trauma's impact holistically.

Chosen Path Therapy is committed to providing individualized, client-centered care that honors each survivor's unique experiences and strengths. We firmly believe in breaking the cycle of generational trauma and empowering individuals to create a new narrative for themselves and future generations.

TRAUMA is NOT your fault. When Trauma/ trauma happens be it Big T or Little t in your mind it stole your right to choose your life direction.

Traumatic events, if not addressed with someone who specializes in healing it will fester like an open physical wound that has not been treated. When our physical body is cut, bruised, or broken and the ailment is not addressed it can lead to consequences that can cause a limp, a serious infection, sepsis and/ or a loss of a limb.

TRAUMA has the same effect but on the mind/ soul/ heart.

Trauma untreated can lead to living half a life

In life, we all go through trauma. These events may leave behind open wounds that we do not have the tools, the support, or the means to heal from.

Not being able to heal from traumatic events does not mean your are lazy, weak, and/or are not working hard enough to put the past in the past.

Traumatic events and/or "life on life's terms" can lead to situations that leave us feeling unglued and afloat, sad and overwhelmed by grief, numb as we watch ourselves go through the motions, we may lose our sense of purpose, alone although we are surrounded by a group of friends, desperate to stop the internal turmoil and possibly feelings of shame, and... the list goes on.

You may have heard such adages as:

"Pull yourself up by your bootstraps!" Or,

"Why do you have to live in the past?"

"Just get over it!"

BUT THE TRUTH IS...

Sometimes we do not have the boots to pull up. When we are in this type of situation we need someone to step in and aid us with the means to stand up.

I am here to help you stand up.

I am here to help you heal.

I am here to help you regain your strength.

Together, We can help you boldly move forward in your life and live the life you chose to create, a life filled with your purpose/ your vision/ your truth, The life you were given this one life to live?
